Terms Conditions

  • All cakes are as the sizes specified at time of ordering.
  • An approximate slice guide can be given upon request.
  • Please ensure you order a sufficient cake size for your requirements as we are unable to change the size once the order is finalised.
  • All cakes are made by hand and are therefore subject to slight variation from original  photograph, but still keeping to the original design.

Delivery
Delivery to any where on UK mainland.

Allergies
Sponge, Lemons sponge, Chocolate and Raspberry cakes do not contain nuts but are prepared in a premises where nuts are used and stored. Every care will be taken to ensure there is no cross-contamination, but please inform us of any nut allergies. We are able to provide dairy and  gluten free cakes upon request. Please check your order form to ensure that all details are correct.

Weddings
Stands are available for hire with our cakes only and not separately. A deposit cheque will be required by one month before for both cake and stand. The stand is to be returned within 48 hours of the wedding/occasion.

Stands that are not returned by the specified date will mean that we cash your deposit cheque.

Fresh Flowers on Cakes
We do not use poisonous varieties (including ivy) and will provide a good quality silk substitute if fresh flowers are required.  We prefer to arrange the flowers ourselves rather than your florist, but will happily liaise with the florist to ensure the varieties match (as long as they are not poisonous).  We will quote you including the flowers.  Flowers will be arranged onto the cake on clear acetate to avoid contact with the cake surface.

Cake Storage and Shelf Life
All cakes should be stored in a cool dark place on a flat sturdy surface in the box provided. Never put cakes in the fridge. Sponge, Chocolate and lemon cake will keep for 5 days after delivery. Fruitcake last perfectly well for months but not years. Chocolate cakes are extremely fragile. We do not recommend a chocolate cake being placed in a conservatory or marquee, if you do so it is with the understanding that we have no responsibility for the resulting condition of the cake.

Orders
We require 2 weeks notice for celebration cakes (but sometimes more or less due to fluctuations in demand). We will occasionally have to refuse an order if we are already at capacity. We need 1 month notice for weddings.

Please check your order thoroughly before payment. For bespoke cakes, our decorators can only create the finished article from what they interpret from the wording of the order. It is  not possible to create exact specifications when modelling food, just a graphical representation. We will produce a simple design sketch for your wedding cake at your consultation and follow it as closely as possible. If an inscription colour or any other choice is left unselected on your order then we reserve the right to use our own discretion. Where email or written confirmation is sent to book your cake, this will be deemed as a confirmed booking and all payment terms will come into effect.

Payment
We accept a £50 date reservation, non refundable deposit on Wedding Cakes more than six months before your wedding. If you are ordering your cake within 1 months of your wedding or are choosing your design, 50% is due on order with the balance due 2 weeks prior to delivery or collection. The cake will not be started until final payment is made. Where a celebration cake is requested we reserve the right to make a charge in advance or accept payment on delivery. We accept cash, or card payments. We can also process card payments direct or over the phone, using our secure portal with our partner SagePay, or, you may pay via our payments page which will take you through to our secure server.

Delivery
All cakes are delivered boxed and the boxes will be left with the venue, so please ask for them. We deliver locally subject to availability and there will be a delivery fee. All cakes will be delivered on your chosen delivery date or the day before, subject to design. Our cakes keep perfectly fresh for 5 days post celebration.

Cancellation
All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation of a cake other than a wedding cake must arrive here via recorded delivery no less than 72 hours prior to the requested date. Your deposit will be forfeit if cancelling more than 2 weeks after placing your order. Any changes to the design will result in a new quote.  No changes to design will be accepted  in the month prior to the celebration date. There will be no refund on CELEBRATION cakes cancelled less than 1 month prior to delivery. However, in some circumstances we will put your file on hold to be reinstated at a later date with the original design choices and the new date must still be checked for availability. Monies are non-transferable or refundable. If a WEDDING cake is cancelled less than 12 weeks prior to the wedding day, and 50% of the total cost will be payable. For WEDDING cakes cancelled less than 8 weeks prior to the wedding day you will be liable for payment in full. Where a celebration cake is cancelled, if the cake is cancelled less than 4 days prior to delivery you will still be liable for payment in full.

Complaints
Corrections and repairs to cakes, including inscription misspellings/mistakes (not including  a change of inscription or change of mind/design), can be corrected on the same day in most cases. You are required to give us this opportunity and must let us know of the problem within one hour of accepting your cake. We are not responsible for mistakes  made by the customer ie. incorrect/misspelled names or incorrect choice of cake.  If in doubt, please supply a photograph of the cake you would like from our website.

Complaints are extremely rare and so we take them very seriously. Some complaints may require further investigation and an immediate refund may not always be possible. Cakes, or part of cakes, must be returned within three days to ensure we are able to fairly  assess the nature of the complaint. All complaints must be made within 21 days. The cake must have been stored at the correct temperature and in the box we supplied, out of the sun and away from damp conditions or heat. If a complaint is due to a decoration error, then, any refund will be limited to the cost of the decoration and to a maximum of £50.00. The maximum refund we offer is the value of the cake providing the cake has been returned complete. Further compensation is not available. We do not refund for customers that have simply changed their mind.

Loss or Damage
We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to the cake once the cake has been accepted or for non-delivery under unavoidable and exceptional circumstances.

Please note that all of our cakes are made using either images that have been supplied from our customers own photographs, or images that are freely available on the internet. We make all of our cakes in house and we are in no way associated with any of the brand names or their respective logos that are used on our cakes. We are not endorsed by the companies names used in association with our cakes. All of our products are replications of images given with our customers consent to use them or images that are not marked as copyright from the internet. We will also reserve the right to modify any design we are given to replicate in order for it not to be an exact replica.
