This cake like all others was tailored to the individual requirements for our bride and grooms, wedding day. The cake was displayed on our own floor standing cake stand and set on a 20" board which is decorated around the edges with diamante's. Dressed in plain crisp white icing, the base of each cake has been decorated with a single diamante chain. All theflowers for this fairy tale wedding cake have been hand made. They are carefully placed to give a trailing effect from the top of the cake to the base and round to the side. The Princess horse and carriage at the base was provided by the bride and groom which gives it a lovely look with the castle as the background.
Normally we make our own castle towers for the top of the cake. This one however was selected by the bride and we decorated it accordingly by icing the outside and adding one or two finishing touches. This particular cake was delivered to The Nottinghamsire Golf & Country Club in Cotgrave, Nottingham. Set on our own 3 foot pedestal stand which is available for hire (with any cake ordered). The multi tier cake stood over 4ft tall. Four tiers were made up of a combination of sponge and fruit cake, whilst the other six tiers were made up of false dummy cakes each ranging between 4 and 5 inches high.
Ornate gold brooches with pink drapes were placed around the circumference of the of the 16 inch multi tier. Pink stripes with gold bow drapes were added to the base heart tiers of the wedding cake. The bride and groom’s initials were framed with scroll detailing and hand painted gold. For the top tier an arrangement of pink and white sugar flowers to consist of calla lilies, roses, blossom and petunias.
Our client requested one of our handmade bespoke cake stand measuring 28inch across, enrobed with ivory silk pleating to compliment the overall look of the design. We also provided personalised cupcakes with alternate ones of the bride and groom’s image and of gold initials alternating around the cake table. Delivery and setup was made at the Quorn Country Hotel, Loughborough. As with all our cakes, the designs can be scaled down, and the colour scheme changed. You can also have each tier made up of cake to suit your requirements. Tropical Wedding Cake

Portions (150) As with all our cakes this cake may be varied to suit your requirements.Apart from the bride and groom cake topper which is non edible, everything else on this tropical wedding cake theme from the Bengal tiger, to the tortoise, lizards and snakes are all made totally edible.The parrot cake toppers were made from a non edible material and decorated by hand in icing, so that the bride and groom could keep them as a reminder of their wedding day. Fondant was shaped to replicate bamboo sticks and was placed around the base of the bottom tier. The 10 inch and 6 inch cakes of this tropical wedding theme cake were designed to look like tree slices. A carved out heart with the bride and grooms first letters of their name were also added to this tier. Finally the tier is airbrushed to give more of a realistic look to the bark.We added a top hat and a veil to the parrots and decorated them with vibrant colours which adds to the overall look of the theme.

Western or Asian attire.Bride and Groom wedding cakes. A bespoke wedding cake which replicates the bride and grooms very own outfits. We often get approached by customers asking us to design cakes with a difference, which sometimes can be very challenging and also test our skills. Originally the design was created with a cake dummy which we used to display at wedding shows This has always been one of the talking points at the shows. Our client came to us with her own idea of a four tier cake with one half of the cake decorated with chocolate and strawberries and the other half elegantly decorated with fondant drapes and flowers, but, upon seeing our display model of a bride and groom in their wedding attire, asked if it would be possible to replicate her own wedding dress and the grooms attire too.
Working out how much would be cake to cater for her guest and how much would be false was the easy part. The base of the wedding dress consisted of a 10 inch Chery and amaretto sponge , an 8 inch chocolate fudge with a filling of milk chocolate ganache and a 6 inch Lemon zest sponge All three layers were stacked. Each of the different cakes was over 4.5 inches in height. It was then carved to shape the skirt part of the dress. The waist upwards was a false tier which was again decorated with fondant icing. We hand carved a polystyrene base to replicate the grooms bottom half, and then we used two 8 inch chocolate cakes (again each over 4.5 inches high from the waist upwards.
To compliment the overall look of this bride and groom cake, we designed a cake board to consist of a parquet flooring, which was air brushed to give an authentic look, together with a red carpet to replicate a church aisle.
Both cakes are about 2.5 feet in height. We also provided a small decorated 6 inch tier with a bride and groom topper to sit in front of this cake. These cakes can of course be scaled to make it either larger or smaller, depending on your requirements. Both cakes are also available as all cake with no false elements, but this would reflect a different price. You can also order just the Bride or the Groom cake separately if you wish. Due to the complexity of the designs, the cakes were transported by our experienced driver (slowly) to the venue in derby completely set up on the board, and finishing touches were applied on arrival. Needless to say we left and arrived in plenty of time with everything required for any emergencies. We will deliver and set up all of our cakes in person. Lambretta Scooter SKU: [ bir-324 ] Cake size approx. (2 foot long x 1 foot high) How about showcasing a 3D Lambretta scooter as a surprise cake for the celebrant and also wow their guests? The lambretta scooter was made to rough scale of a lif size one. The framework was made in house to support this cake. Of course as with all of our sculptured 3D cakes, where required, the base is covered in food grade foil. The scooter was made from our own freshly baked Madagascan vanilla sponge and then carved to shape the body of the bike.The wheels are none edible and are used as part of the decoration only. They are of course iced and decorated to repicate the wheels. As the celebrant for this cake is an avid West Ham supporter and a Paul Weller fan) we were commissioned to place a fondant version of a football scarf and images of Paul Weller from the group “the Jam” onto the bike itself. From start to finish the lambretta scooter cake had taken over 11 hours of work, from baking to cutting and assembling the bike frame and decorating. The lambretta scooter can have your very own personal touch added and decorated to your own choice of colours. This particular cake was delivered to the West Ham football ground for the recipients party. They had hired one of West Ham's private function rooms. Needless to say the celebrant had no idea that he was getting this cake. It was all a total surprise for him.
We stayed in touch with the customer from start to finish. This was a timed delivery into West Ham, London (a steady 2 hour drive). Like all of our distance deliveries, we deliver and set up all of our cakes in person. We never use a third party courier, and we always go prepared just in case of any small mishaps. Arriving in plenty of time we always allow for hold ups en-route and leave early. Our customers are contacted immediately if and when we come across any delays, and we also let the venue know. To date so far we have travelled well over 150,000 miles for our ling distance deliveries. We are pleased to say we have a 100% record. Mini Cooper Cake
SKU: [ bir-326 ] Cake size ( 11 inch X 6 inch ) Approx. portions (45+)One of Our returning clients enquired if it would be possible to replicate her daughter’s birthday present, a Mini Cooper. This was to be made with our Jamaican style fruit cake. We were more than happy to oblige. Once the caked was baked, it was carefully carved and shaped to replicate her white Mini Cooper. We then proceeded to decorate as per images that were provided to us. These included a black chequered roof and black stripes on the bonnet.
An 11 inch by 6 inch fruit cake was used to cater for our client’s guest of 45. Ensuring that when we enrobed the carved fruit cake with marzipan, the design and shape didn’t go out of scale. Just as general information, with a labour of love, this fruit cake took 5 hours to mix and then bake alone. It then took another 7 hours of carving, coating and decorating. Just seeing our customers face light up when they sew the cake was “ priceless” We can also provide this cake in variety of flavours other than Jamaican fruit. Although we do get a wide variety of vehicle cakes, this one has to be the most eye catching design that anyone celebrating would want. The sponge is made with all fresh ingredients, including fresh vanilla pods, as our all our cakes. Folded in half, the sponge is hand carved to shape to replicate the classic look of the Chanel style bag. The filling of this particular cake is made up of our own soft fresh vanilla butter cream, together with our smooth strawberry conserve. Covered in black fondant the classic chanel cake is than hand designed to give the distinctive stich look of the bag. The handle, buckle, clasp and Chanel style logo are also hand-made, cut and placed onto the bag. The base tier is a 10" square and is our children’s favourite, "Strawberry" sponge. Filled with freshly made strawberry butter cream and coated in a gorgeous pink fondant. The base of the cake has been decorated with individually handmade iced balls. We placed handmade iced butterflies and flowers on the front corners of the base tier. The second tier of this first birthday cake is made with our ever popular fresh vanilla sponge. Using only fresh ingredients and fresh vanilla pods. The centre of this cake is filled with real vanilla butter cream. Decorated in a white fondant, we added a quilted effect around the sides and used edible dragees. To finish the look on this tier we added some handmade and decorated teddy bear figures.Finally the top tier of this children’s birthday cake is made from our extremely popular rich Belgian chocolate sponge. Using only real Belgian chocolate, the middle is filled with Belgian chocolate butter cream and is then finally coated in our own recipe of Belgian chocolate ganache. Coated in a soft pink fondant we then placed a soft pink organza ribbon around the base. The top of the tier was decorated with handmade iced stars and the centre piece was a lovely darker pink handmade crown. West Highland Terrier Dog Cake SKU: [ bir-287 ] Cake size used (As in picture) 10 inch Approx Portions (As in picture) 30 + Chocolate fudge is not available for this cake West highland terrier 3D cake. Forget the taxidermist, just give us a call and we will transform your pet into a caricature cake for you. We have lovingly called him Scruffy. This lovely west highland terrierbirthday novelty cake is totally edible. We have dressed the cake board to resemble floor boards. Our customer wanted a cake of their pet to look as real as possible. You decide if we have managed that or not. The West Highland Terrier has been made totally from cake and only has one small support inside. Once we had achieved the desired shape, it was covered in a soft fondant. We then set about the detail of the body and tail.
Attention was paid to the detail of the dog, right down to his muddy paws. Eyes were made and coloured, and the moth was shaped and marked to give him a happy look. Approx portions 30 Most cake flavours / types available Springbatt dog novelty cake is a caricature of the images we were sent of the Springbatt cross dog. These dogs are known for their very good nature, or so our customer thought. They enquired if we could provide a 3D cake of her very own dog customised with his own scarf. It turned out that the dog had a little bit of a destructive nature (well it's fun for the dog) and loves to chew any items it can get hold like babies dummies, TV remote and paper (although the list might be endless).The cake board he is sitting on has been decorated to represent a tiled floor. The cake was baked and decorated less than 36 hours prior to delivery in Nottingham, East Midlands.
Like all of our novelty cakes, this cake was hand decorated. We asked the customer to provide several photos of the dog in order to get as much detail as we could onto the cake. The Springbatt dog is a Springer Spaniel crossed with a Basset Hound and is becoming very popular. With it's distinctive long body and short stumpy legs it is a very loveable and loyal dog. Yorkshire Terrier Dog Cake SKU: [ bir-334 ] Cake size (approx) length 10", height 6" width 6" Other sizes are available. Approx portions 30 Most cake flavours / types availableOur Yorkshire terrier birthday cake, is another addition to our 3D animal cakes that we often get requested to make. For this particular cake, again we used a 12 inch cake to ensure we had enough to work with. Like most of our 3D bespoke cakes, everything on this cake is totally edible and made from actual cake with virtually no support structure. At Kimboscakes, we work only with fresh baked cakes, and each one is baked and hand carved to shape, then decorated, less than 48 hours prior to delivery / collection.
The Yorkshire terrier birthday cake is carved and shaped into 2 parts before it is assembled. Once we have assembled and crumb coated the cake, we then set about coating it in a lush soft fondant. Using our experience and skills that we have gained over the years, we then set about modelling and styling the look of the Yorkshire terrier birthday cake. When we are happy with how it looks, we then start the colouring and fine detailing from images that our customer has provided to us. We take great care in replicating as close as we can, a true likeness of the images we are given.
This Yorkshire terrier birthday cake is then set out on a 14 inch cake board that we have pre - iced. On this board we have also replicated their pets blanket and the cake is then set onto this. Their pet also had a pink bow added as per the customers information. Please note decorations may vary slightly as each cake is baked individually.

Cadillac Cake lasalle SKU: [ bir-329 ] Cake size approx. 11 x 5 inch Approx. portions 25-30 One of our customers came to us with the request to make a Lasalle Cadillac cake in the same style as a photo that was sent to us. We were of course happy to oblige. After considerable researching of the history of this beautiful vintage car we were able to work out a scaled size, to help with the shape and overall size of the cake.We set to baking the cake which was a made from our Madagascan vanilla sponge recipe. The cakes were baked in sufficient quantity and then carved down and shaped by hand to replicate the basic shape of the Cadillac, from the scaled sizes we had drawn up of the Lasalle Cadillac. We were also requested to keep the replica as close as possible as it was also to include the gentleman's late wife's name on the car. This was also shown in the image we were given to work from of the actual car.
Everything on the car is totally edible with the exception of the board runner supports. These were made from a none edible item, but, were coated and decorated in icing to keep within the colour and design. The lasalle cadillac cake has a gorgeous cream finish, together with a rosewood trim around the windows. This really completes the beauty of this vintage car cake which was a pleasure to execute for our client.
We are requested and produce all types of vehicles for our customers. This particular one was even more memorable due to the style and age, together with the fact it also has a memory of the gentleman's late wife.
The gentleman, whose birthday it was, was so pleased with the cake, that he even has a photo of this in his office. Saxaphone cake SKU: [ bir-337 ] Cake size used (9") Approx Portions (25 - 30) Available in a range of sizes and flavoursThis particular saxaphone birthday cake is made with our very own recipe for charry and amaretto sponge. A beautiful fresh baked soft sponge with the taste of Almond and cherry. If you love the taste of almond /marzipan, then our cherry and amaretto sponge is definitely the one for you. Our customer informed us that the recipient had a passion and love for jazz music. Togehter with this they loved playing the saxophone and the piano. With this information in mind, we were asked to make this aprticular cake, to show the saxaphone, together with musical notes and a keybiard decoration. Once the cake and board were covered in sugar paste, we then decorated the outside of the cake with piano keys. We then added musical notes to the cake board. The Saxophone was made in advance with rice crispy treats. Once this had set, it was then enrobed with fondant and left to air out. We then airbrushed the saxaphone with gold, and, finally added the parts to replicate a close likeness to the to the sax .
