Carved from a 10 inch chocolate cake to replicate  the Mator truck from the movie “cars” Decorated with a base colour then airbrushed to give mater his well known worn rusty look. Mator would not be complete without his big teeth/eyes and his rusty old winch which we added to complete him.

With attention given to detail this novelty cake takes time to create but we think it is worth it to see the look on the little faces when they see him.

Mater has been laid onto a cake board that has been given the look of a garage floor (oil and tyre marks included ) Each part of mater is hand made including the wheels and winch. We do not use moulds to create any of our cakes they are all done by hand. real fruit is used for the flavouring of the sponge cake and real belgian chocolate is used for our chocolate cakes. (No E numbers here).

Your little one would absolutly love this cake and quite possibly would not want to cut into him and share him with friends. Hand decorated and coloured, we enjoyed putting this cake together. Even mators teehth are edible. In fact the only part of mater that is not edible is the tow rope on the back.

Mator has been lifted up on the board in order to give him a more authentic look. We thin he looks better this way than just having his tyres pushed into the side of the cake.

His little yellow amber breakdown lights are made from coloured icing and his towing hook and winch are made from flower paste. As with all of our cakes we deliver them all in person direct to your door or venue. Our cakes are delivered all over the Midlands and the rest of the UK.

Star Trek Enterprise NX-01

Laid out on a black iced cake board with star effect as decoration, this cake was sculptured from one of our freshly baked 8 inch sponges. A battle scared Starship enterprise NX-01 is completely sculptured and decorated by hand.

The 2 engines and the supports are made from flower paste and icing and sit firmly on their own without any other means of support. The saucer section of the enterprise was shaped and placed on top of the cake before we covered it in icing.

This particular cake was made to replicate a picture we were given by our customer. We gave it a few battle scars and burns for extra effect as the enterprise always seems to run into trouble somewhere.  This particular cake was made with our rich belgian chocolate sponge and is avaiailable in a wide range of flavours to suit.

Spanish Theme Wedding

A wedding cake with a difference. The couple who ordered this wedding cake wanted to have that spanish theme about it. This particualr water fountain under the cake was supplied by the Bride and Groom. They wanted to make a statement with their wedding cake and have something completely different.

The cake is made up of four tiers which are covered in a lovely soft white fondant. Each of the tiers have silk white ribbon laid around them and are seperated with gorgeous white (Avalanche) roses together with Blue Hydrangea’s (Courtesy of Amaryllis Floral Design).  

The top of the cake has a small floral bump of Blue Hydrangea’s placed on top of it. The whole cake is sat on top of one of our fountain stands. Underneath the stand we have set a beautiful waterfall feature with flowing water together with the bride and groom.

The waterfall is gently lit up with soft rainbow coloured lights, while the base of the stand sits on our led stand giving an uplift of light.

This cake like all our other cakes is available in a full range of flavours, colours and sizes to suit. The wedding cake was delivered to the Bride and Grooms venue at Shottle hall in Derbyshire.

There is no delivery charge for wedding cakes within the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire areas, though we deliver all over the UK, other areas will incur a slight delivery charge to cover fuel costs. All prices shown include FREE delivery (where applicable), setup and dressing/decorating of the cake table at your venue, a hand made flower spray (iced) to attach to your cake knife, your choice of cake flavours/types and of course your choice of colours.

Fender Guitar Celebration Birthday Cake

 Another one of our styled cakes for the musicians out there. The last one we completed was a Jaxville guitar cake. This one was requested by another customer who specifically wanted a Fender guitar cake as per the photo they provided. We were only to pleased to oblige.

As with other cakes, this Fender guitar cake was made from scratch. Using 3 freshly baked 12″ cakes we set about constructing thnovelty birthday cake. The whole shape of the guitar is carved by hand to replicate the real thing and is scaled down in size and laid out on a 32″ x 14″  iced oblong board.

The neck of the guitar is covered in a light wood colour soft fondant. The bottom of the guitar is also covered in a white fondant and then decorated by hand to match the picture of the fender guitar.  We then placed the white backboard on the guitar and added all the other details to it.

The kneck starp is also made out of edible icing, making the whole cake totally edible. We paid particular attenton to the detail on both the strap and the guitar to ensure it matched the pictures that we were sent.

The whole cake took over 14 hours of work to create and needless to say the finished job looked spot on.

Another one of our fashion icon type bags. A smaller version of our original Jack Wills Style Carrier Bag Cake. The larger version can be found by clicking here. When asked if we could downsize our original version of the Jack Wills cake, we were happy to oblige.

Made from our own recipe for a Belgian chocolate cake and coated in a soft Belgian chocolate ganashe. The downsized version was also a pleasure to make. At Kimboscakes we love to to 3d, carved, original and unique cakes. We will put our hand to most shapes and styles of cakes. All of our cakes are made individually by hand without using preshaped tins.  We think it has more of a personal touch. As we bake all of our own cakes fresh to order, we make them with different recipies to suit the job requested.

The jask wills logo on this cake is actually an edible print but we will also do this by hand from flower paste on request. This cake is available in a full range of sizes, styles and colours to suit.

Royal Marines Commando Beret

Of course it goes without saying when we were asked to do a cake for a future member of the armed forces that we would do it. We were requested to replicate a Royal Marines Commando Beret in the form of a cake where everything was edible. This particular cake was requested as a chocolate and chilli infused sponge.

As we bake all of our cakes to order, we obviously stepped up to the request. Airing on the mild side for the chilli we made the beret from a 10″ round cake and started to cut it down and shape it to resemble a worn commando beret.

Once the required shape was acheived, we then covered it in an army green coloured fondant and added the final creases. The wings and dagger were made separately by hand out of flower paste and are also edible.

The fun part of this cake was to replicate the commando’s badge for the beret. Shaping and cutting the pattern by hand was a nice challange. The finished cake was placed on a 12″ round board to allow for the wings and dagger to sit beside the cake.
